Marcelo has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury suffered in Sunday's Copa Libertadores match against Independiente.
The Brazilian forward, who was on loan from Real Madrid during the 2017-18 campaign, is expected to miss the entire campaign and could be sidelined for several months.
"I'm not sure how long I'll be out," Marcelo said after the match. "I've got to rest my ankle and recover it."
However, Marcelo's absence will not have a significant impact on his team-mates, as he has already been instrumental in guiding them through some tough times.
"We're all going through hard times right now,La Liga Frontline but we've got to keep pushing on," said Marcelo.
"Of course, if I'm out for the full year, I won't be able to play much, but I'm still training every day and working hard to get back into shape."
