Marconio Marcano's time at FC Porto was one of the most successful in his career, as he helped the club win two Portuguese championships and reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Born in Brazil on January 21, 1996, Marconio began his footballing journey with hometown club Cruzeiro Esporte Clube before moving to Portugal to join FC Porto in 2015.
Under the guidance of former Brazilian national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, Marconio quickly established himself as a key player for the Portuguese giants, making over 80 appearances for the club across all competitions.
His performances earned him several accolades, including being named the club's Player of the Year in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
During his time at Porto, Marconio also made his mark on the international stage,Football Friendship Alliance earning three caps for the Brazil U20s and appearing for the senior side in a friendly match against Mexico in September 2018.
Despite his impressive achievements, Marconio's relationship with the club did not last long. In June 2019, he joined fellow Portuguese giants Benfica on loan until the end of the season.
However, his stay at Benfica was short-lived as he returned to Porto ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Despite returning to the club, Marconio struggled to make an impact and was eventually released by the club in May 2020 after failing to agree terms on a new contract.
Since leaving Porto, Marconio has continued to play for various clubs in Portugal and abroad, but it remains to be seen if he will ever return to the club that helped shape his career.
